Administrative Detail -
Tecalemit Systems Ltd was formed in 1990 by the amalgamation of Interlube Systems Ltd and Tecamec Ltd. Tecalemit Systems is a subsidiary of Siebe Plc of Windsor, a British Public Limites Company who acquired the Tecalemit Group of Companies in 1983. Tecalemit originated in London in 1920, manufacturing lubrication equipment and components for the motor industry and moved to Plymouth in 1948. During 1949 Messrs Tecalemit opened new premises at Marsh Mills and later at Estover during the 1970s.
The collection was deposited with SWiB in 2007.
Scope and Content -
Collection of files, papers and photographic material including company history notes, manuals, staff pictures, machinery and reconstruction books containing contemporary news articles on the post war development of Plymouth. Also includes a photographic album showing the visit of HRH Prince Philip to Tecalemit in 1968.
